Tommy Doyle breaks silence with 15-word message after Wolves’ defeat to Brighton As £150m star may have actually just played his final game for Wolves after Brighton horror show
Brighton eliminated Wolves from the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night,
and Tommy Doyle, who captained the team, has since issued a statement.
Wolves lost 3-2 at the Amex Stadium last weekend in the Premier League, failing to recover from their loss to Newcastle United.
Despite a terrible first half performance, Goncalo Guedes‘ goal shortly before halftime gave Wolves hope.
Guedes and Rodrigo Gomes both had excellent opportunities for Wanderers to tie the score.
However, Brighton’s late goal through Ferdi Kadioglu left Wolves with too much to do.
Tommy Doyle issued a message to supporters following yesterday night’s outcome,
grabbing a late consolation for the visiting team.
Tommy Doyle delivers a bold speech and thanks Wolves supporters for traveling to Brighton.
Wolves did not humiliate themselves at the Amex in the end.
The guys gave a fairly bad first half effort, but they improved in the second and ought to have been back on par.
Still, it was a disappointing loss all around for those who traveled all the way to the south shore.
If Wolves had played as they did in the first half, there would have been outrage today.
Doyle, the team’s captain with Mario Lemina on the bench, was one player who truly provided
a strong performance last night.
The Englishman’s performance was lauded by supporters, with numerous feeling he was
the standout for Wolves amid a poor collective performance.
Doyle thanked those who attended the game in a social media post that will undoubtedly
be appreciated by those supporters.
He wrote, “Thank you to everyone that traveled last night,” in a message of fifteen words.
reuniting and concentrating during the weekend.
Particularly for those who traveled to the Amex, supporters are miffed over the most recent loss to Brighton.
Following the game last night, the majority of people that were featured have not said anything.
However, Doyle did a nice thing by at least acknowledging those that left, and this kind of behavior is probably now expected of him.
He understands it, and being the captain last night showed that he is obviously a leader as well.
Doyle should definitely play
more for Wolves, but he has very tough competition from the likes of Lemina, Joao Gomes and Andre.
In that sense, he is probably the most unfortunate player in the whole squad.
It would be great to see him against Villa, although it would be no surprise to see
O’Neil plump for a more athletic and dynamic midfield to try and stifle the home side.
