West Brom boss sets challenge for key attacker
West Brom manager Carlos Corberan believes Tom Fellows can’still do more‘ after their strong start to the season.
West Brom are top of the Championship standings after five games, following a 3-0 win at Portsmouth last time out.
Fellows, 21, has gained the attention of the Baggies and was called up by England’s Under-21 team for the most recent international break.
According to BirminghamLive, Corberan stated, “It’s important, especially for young players, to have the right mentality.” Tom Fellows
has the correct mindset to realize where he is, and in football, when we do things well, we talk a lot about very wonderful things.
“If he doesn’t get assists in three years, it’ll be a different story. If a striker scores goals, we discuss them. If he’s injured and we talk about
it four months later, we might mention that he hasn’t scored any goals and has been out for three and a half months due to injury. “We
know how football is.”
He went on to say, “It’s especially vital for younger players to have the appropriate mindset. I appreciate Tom Fellows‘ approach because
he is unaffected by the noise surrounding football. He should just focus on improving as a player. There are still things he can do to
improve as a player.”
Fellows has a bright future at West Brom, and the club will be glad to have kept him over the summer.
