Nottingham Forest was’set to offer defender Ola Aina a new contract following
his strong performances this season,’ according to rumors in the local media.
Talks to extend the player’s stay at the City Ground are progressing well,
and Allnigeriasoccer.com can confirm that the two-time European winners have already
begun the process of locking him down to a new deal.
Aina has been offered a four-year contract, which he will accept if the parties come to a formal agreement.
This will keep him at Forest through at least the conclusion of the 2027–2028 season.
In an attempt to keep the Nigerian international on board until next summer,
Nottingham Forest has acted swiftly to extend an offer of a new contract.
Given that he is currently out of contract on June 30, 2025,
the Chelsea youth product may sign a contract with a
foreign club once the transfer window opens for business in January 2025.
Aina’s superb performance during Nottingham Forest‘s 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield,
where he pocketed the in-form Luis Díaz, won him praise from both fans and experts.
He signed with Forest in July 2023 as a free agent, and since then,
he has made 26 appearances across all competitions and contributed to two goals.
Aina gained a position in the CAF Technical Study Group’s Team of the Tournament
after being formally recognized as the top right-back in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
