The Dallas Cowboys struggle to run the ball. Is it time to hand over the reins to Dalvin Cook?

Despite the veteran presence of Dalvin Cook on the Cowboys’ practice squad, team owner and general manager Jerry Jones does not

appear to be in a rush to freshen up the Dallas rushing assault.

“I don’t necessarily see a change that would involve Cook this week,” Jones told 105.3 The Fan (KRLD-FM) in his weekly radio appearance

on Tuesday morning.

“I appreciate how we are with our running backs. We have good depth. “We just didn’t get to run them enough on Sunday.”

The Cowboys’ next opponent will be the Baltimore Ravens, who come into AT&T Stadium eager for a win following a stunning 0-2 start.

While reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson leads the offense, he is joined in the backfield by running back Derrick Henry, a name who many

speculated the Cowboys may sign throughout the offseason in free agency.

Ahead of the upcoming game versus Henry, Jones was asked about the team’s choice not to hurry the two-time league leader following

Tony Pollard’s departure.

“If you have a good player out there and don’t sign him, you’re probably going to play him,” Jones stated. “When you do sign them, you

grab one of your competitors and bring him over to your side.
