According to a report by StokeOnTrentLive, Stoke City is ready to name Narcis Pelach in time for

Friday’s home match against Hull City.

For the time being, Stoke City has put Ryan Shawcross and Alex Morris in temporary leadership roles.

This evening, the two will play League Two team Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup.
This week, the Potters unexpectedly decided to sever their relationship with Steven Schumacher.

They have won two of their first five games of the new Championship season and are sat in 13th place in the table.

The last-minute 1-0 victory over Oxford United proved to be the tipping point for the former Plymouth Argyle player

and his staff. In the most recent information about his replacement,

StokeOnTrentLive claim they are ‘likely’ to have Pelach in place by the time Hull City visit the Bet365 Stadium.

The 36-year-old has been identified as their top target and is currently the first-team coach of fellow second tier outfit Norwich City.

Pelach, a target for Stoke City, moved to Carrow Road last season to work under David Wagner,

and the Canaries made the playoffs. Since then, he has remained in East Anglia with the arrival of Johannes

Hoff Thorup. Originally from Spain, Pelach played in the lower leagues of his home

country for clubs like Cassa and Figueros before moving on to become a coach with the latter in 2014

and eventually moving on to Peralada in 2018. After that, Girona called,

and he served as their assistant for a year before moving to England.

After that, Pelach teamed up with Carlos Corberan’s backroom staff at Huddersfield Town,

twice becoming their interim manager.

Stoke City chairman Chair John Coates posted the following on their website after Schumacher was fired: “We thank Steven, Mark Hughes, Chris Cohen, Peter Cavanagh, and Elliot Turner for their efforts and wish them well in their future endeavors.”

“We are certain that the group of players we have put together will help Stoke City win this season. I still have the utmost gratitude for the devoted and enthusiastic support of the Club’s supporters.

“My role as Sporting Director is to make difficult decisions that serve Stoke City’s long-term interests,” stated Jon Walter.

“We believe the time is right for a change in direction to bring success to the club after ongoing discussions with John Coates.”
