Norwich City sues Celtic for $3 million over the transfer of Adam Idah.

Norwich City sues Celtic for $3 million over the transfer of Adam Idah.

The announcement of a new hearing yesterday may make Celtic regret buying Adam Idah even more,

as Norwich is seeking an additional €3 million.

When acquired from the Celtic game, the former Norwich forward was an absolute disaster on the field.

According to Sky Sports, Norwich will get an initial payment of £8.5 million,

with an additional £1 million in add-ons included in the negotiations.

Additionally, the Championship team added a sell-on provision to the agreement, which means that if the striker leaves Celtic in the future, they will receive 15% of the transfer money.

Idah made an impression during his six-month stay in Scotland during the second half of the previous season, and Celtic has been interested in acquiring him for some time.

He helped Celtic win both the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish Cup with nine goals in 19 appearances for the team.

Regarding the efforts to sign Idah, Brendan Rodgers had stated on Sunday that “it is ongoing.” Nothing has changed on my end. He is undoubtedly a player that excelled for us in the previous season.

“However, he is still a Norwich player; yesterday, he played for them. I do not want to talk about him too much.

“We will see what the rest of the window brings.”

Norwich argue that a condition in the contract prohibiting them from transferring Adam Idah to another club was circumvented by Celtic when the parties terminated the agreement by mutual consent in 2024.

FIFA dismissed their initial appeal, and they are demanding payment of a €3 million fine. However, on December 9, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will hold a second hearing.
