JUST IN: Reiss Nelson confirmed set for first Fulham start following Arsenal exit.

Cottagers in the Carabao Cup clash with Preston
Fulham boss Marco Silva has hinted deadline-day signing Reiss Nelson is in line to make
his full debut at Preston on Tuesday.
Nelson made the move across London from Arsenal on August 30 on an initial loan and impressed during a
24-minute cameo against West Ham on Saturday.
West Ham rescued a point with a stoppage-time leveller in a 1-1 draw but Silva was pleased with the contribution of
attacker Nelson and he will feature in their midweek Carabao Cup tie.
“He had a very good impact since he joined. I know it was the international break and not all the players together,
but he had a good impact,” Silva told reporters.
“Of course a good impact in the game, like we expected, and we needed a player like him in the moment of this game.
“We got control again and started to have some chances to punish them,
probably to kill the game at 2-0. Unfortunately we didn’t score but yes, definitely a very good impact from him.
About tomorrow’s match? It will be an opportunity to see him again.”
Silva has fond memories of matches with Preston after Fulham sealed promotion from the Sky Bet
Championship with a 3-0 win over North End in 2022.
The west London club have enjoyed strong cups runs in each of the last two seasons,
making the last eight of the FA Cup in 2023 before they were edged out in the Carabao Cup semi-finals by Liverpool in January.
“Being professional, being serious is the main thing for us in the competition. Playing with ambition too,” Silva reflected.
“We know what we are capable to do but at the same time we know if you are not fully focused and fully
motivated anything can happen.
“For us it is important what we have been doing in the last two seasons in different competitions.
“Two seasons ago, quarter-final of the FA Cup.
Last season, semi-finals for the first time ever in the Football League Cup; history.
And it’s really important for us to keep giving these steps forward and we are really positive.”
Fulham will be without striker Carlos Vinicius (calf).
