David Templeton reveals Celtic call outside Rangers training ground before decisive Ally McCoist talks
David Templeton disclosed that just before his negotiations with Rangers, Celtic expressed interest in signing him.
After moving from the Jambos to Ibrox under Ally McCoist, the former Hearts winger has acknowledged that things
might have gone differently after getting a call from the Hoops whilst OUTSIDE Murray Park. The 35-year-old spoke
up about the transfer that brought him from Tynecastle to Ibrox,
shocking Open Goal host Si Ferry with his disclosure.

A startled Ferry inquired: “Had you already agreed with Ally McCoist?” Templeton answered: “I was outside. I hadn’t
even been in and spoke to the gaffer yet.” Ferry next asked: “What made you sign?” Templeton responded, “I was
told if I didn’t leave [Hearts] I would be training with the kids, not getting paid and all that sort of stuff. Celtic
wanted me to wait until the end of the season so they wouldn’t need to pay for me.”
