A double dose of Rangers injuries is revealed, with two fresh players now doubtful against Benfica.

After hobbling off against Hibernian on March 10, Dujon Sterling and Ross McCausland are now questionable for injury ahead of Rangers’ Europa League matchup with Benfica, per the Daily Record.

In the print edition of the newspaper [11 March, page 43], it was claimed that both of the important players hobbled off following hard challenges in the 2-0 victory that was tainted by multiple terrible fouls.

Following a risky tackle, Jordan Obita and Nathan Moriah-Welsh received red cards, and they were removed from the game three minutes apart.

Philippe Clement said following the game, “I’m not happy that Dujon and Ross had to come off.” It is not advantageous. We will find out in the next days whether or not they will be ready on Thursday.

Will Dujon Sterling and Ross McCausland, stars for the Rangers, play against Benfica?

With both of the important Rangers players hobbling off against Hibs, mostly as a result of their opponents’ hard tackles during the match, everyone at Ibrox will be crossing their fingers for them to participate in the pivotal match against Benfica.

The frightening tackles and red cards that utterly overshadowed the game against Hibs have left the Ibrox club in a tough position to deal with the issues after the game, both on and off the pitch, leaving the manager infuriated.

Sterling will be greatly missed if he is not fully fit for the match at Ibrox on March 14. Sterling was particularly excellent in the 2-2 draw in Lisbon, when he scored the second goal for Rangers.

While McCausland was rested for the Lisbon match, he would be the most probable option to take Sterling‘s place if he were to miss it. In the event that they are both sidelined by injuries, Clement won’t have many choices on the right side.
