‘Here we go’ – Fabrizio Romano says Nottingham Forest just agreed next signing after McAtee, medical today
Nottingham Forest have agreed a £37m deal to sign Ipswich Town starlet Omari Hutchinson, GIVEMESPORT senior reporter Fabrizio Romano has revealed.
The City Ground outfit have reportedly reached a club-to-club agreement in another late summer move, with Manchester City attacker James McAtee’s arrival also imminent.
Hutchinson is set to undergo his Forest medical imminently ahead of the move, with personal terms already agreed.
Forest are also in advanced talks to bring in Rennes forward Arnaud Kalimuendo, as final terms of the deal are being agreed following an official bid.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are also in discussions to sign Serie A duo Douglas Luiz and Yunus Musah, with the former Aston Villa ace particularly keen on a move.
Forest Agree Deal to Sign Omari Hutchinson
Romano, writing on X, has revealed that Forest have reached an agreement to sign Hutchinson from Ipswich, with the 21-year-old currently on his way for a medical.
Romano also provided an update on Forest’s further transfer plans minutes later, revealing that talks are ongoing for both Luiz and Musah, while Kalimuendo and McAtee are expected to join:
Hutchinson only joined Ipswich from Chelsea for £20m last summer, after spending 2023/24 on loan at Portman Road.
The 21-year-old impressed in his debut Premier League campaign, scoring three goals and providing two assists in 31 appearances, but was unable to prevent Kieran McKenna’s side from dropping back into the Championship.
Hutchinson and McAtee were England teammates during the Euro U21 Championship in Slovakia this summer, both playing key roles in helping the Young Lions defend their title.
The new Forest duo combined in the extra-time final victory against Germany, as Hutchinson was set up by McAtee for England’s second goal.
