Rangers seal international clearance for new signing Mikey Moore after he was at Ibrox yesterday
Mikey Moore looks set to be a hugely exciting addition for Rangers following his loan move from Tottenham.
The winger is held in extremely high regard in North London and has been earmarked as one of their brightest youth talents for several years after an impressive spell with the first team last term.
Moore is still waiting to make his Rangers debut, with the fact that he has not yet turned 18 providing a delay to UEFA’s decision to hand him international clearance for the move.
Russell Martin’s side have an abundance of crucial games coming up on the horizon, and they will want their new man available to them as quickly as possible.
Moore likely to be available vs Alloa on 16 August
Moore was handed a watching brief at Ibrox yesterday, as his new side continued what has been a mixed start to the new campaign.
Things are looking good for the Govan outfit in the Champions League, and they should find themselves just one round away from the league phase of the competition in a matter of days, providing they don’t blow their three-goal advantage over Viktoria Plzen.
Martin’s men are set to make the trip to Czechia on Tuesday night, and there had been speculation that Moore would be cleared in time to pull on a Gers shirt for the first time.
However, that is unlikely to be the case, and he will instead have to wait until the League Cup visit of Alloa on 16 August to get involved for the first time, according to PA Sport’s George Sessions via X.
The Tottenham reporter understands that the wideman’s clearance is set to be finalised by UEFA when he turns 18 on Monday.
Moore will add even more depth to Rangers’ wide options
Rangers’ struggles in the Premiership so far have offset the positivity that has been built up from their European exploits.
It hasn’t been the start to the season that Martin and his charges would have been hoping for, but they still have more than enough quality to turn their fortunes around in the next few weeks.
The Govan outfit have plenty of exciting talent on the flanks, with the likes of Djeidi Gassama and Findlay Curtis quickly making names for themselves, and Moore will only add further strength in that area.
He is viewed highly by Spurs with good reason, and if Martin can get him settled in quickly and playing his best football, then he could be a scary proposition for Premiership defences.
