Team news | Five full debuts on opening day
Nathan Jones has handed Charlton debuts to five summer signings for today’s opening game of the 2025/26 Sky Bet Championship season against Watford.
Thomas Kaminski, Amari’i Bell, Rob Apter, Sonny Carey and Charlie Kelman all start for the Addicks at The Valley this afternoon.
There is a place on the bench for fellow new boys Joe Rankin-Costello, Harvey Knibbs and Tanto Olaofe.
It means Bell will join Kayne Ramsay and Lloyd Jones in a back three in front of Kaminski.
Apter and Josh Edwards are likely to operate as wing-backs with Carey joining Conor Coventry and skipper Greg Docherty in a midfield three, behind Kelman and Tyreece Campbell.
Rankin-Costello, Knibbs and Olaofe are joined on the bench by Will Mannion, Macaulay Gillesphey, Alex Mitchell, Luke Berry, Karoy Anderson and Miles Leaburn.
