New Charlton Athletic development delays £1.8m deal for premier league star
Charlton Athletic’s deal for Harvey Knibbs has been slightly delayed by the decision not to name Dane Murphy as CEO, according to Reading Today.
Charlton Athletic have not been afraid to splash the cash in the bid to prepare for the rise to Championship football. Manager Nathan Jones has been well backed by the CAFC ownership, and it will be hoped it yields results on the pitch.
The Addicks struck a notable deal for QPR striker Charlie Kelman, while Thomas Kaminski and Rob Apter make for impressive signings too.
They’re not done yet in South London though, with Reading star Harvey Knibbs firmly on the radar. Reports have said a deal will be finalised this week following an agreement over a fee, but there would appear to be a slight hold-up.
Reading Today reports that Charlton Athletic’s decision not to hire Dane Murphy CEO as planned has held up the completion of Knibbs’ move to The Valley.
It is stressed that the 26-year-old is still fully expected to seal his move to the Championship new boys, but the finalisation of the switch has been delayed. There are no issues betweeen CAFC, Knibbs or any other relevant parties, and a £1.8m move should be sealed.
