Nottingham Forest in transfer battle for £34m defender as ‘big move inevitable’
Nottingham Forest are said to remain keen on Roma defender Evan Ndicka
as they target reinforcements for Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad.
The Reds are one of seven Premier League sides yet to make a summer signing.
But that is certain to be put right when the transfer window reopens
for business on Monday, following a brief pause in proceedings.
Ensuring head coach Nuno has strength in depth across the pitch is the
aim for Forest ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. And that means tweaks will
be made to the dressing room, with incomings and outgoings on the cards.
The Reds were credited with an interest in Ndicka earlier this year.
According to CaughtOffside, the 25-year-old is still on their radar and a
potential transfer is being eyed up.
However, there looks set to be a battle for the centre-back’s signature. In addition to interest from Forest, Ndicka also has Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United chasing him.
It is claimed Roma want somewhere in the region of €40 million (£34m) for the Ivory Coast international. Although “nothing has been decided” with regards to the player’s future, it is said a “big move” appears to be inevitable at some point.
