In the summer of 2023, Callum Hudson-Odoi was sensationally acquired by Nottingham Forest.

Due to bad play and a string of unkind injuries, the England winger had dropped in Chelsea’s hierarchy. But unfazed, Steve Cooper gambled on the player he had coached for the 2017 World Cup-winning England under-17 squad.

It is rather astounding that Forest only spent £3 million for Hudson-Odoi in this day and age. With the forward resurrecting his career at the City Ground, the Reds haven’t looked back either.

Hudson-Odoi’s signing signalled a shift in strategy in the transfer market. Forest may now have a fantastic chance to duplicate that specific transaction and sign a Chelsea player from the previous campaign.

Nottingham Forest should try cheeky bid to sign Jadon Sancho

Sancho helped Chelsea reach the Champions League by scoring in the UEFA Conference League final

at the conclusion of the season, but Enzo Maresca is not willing to pay £25 million to sign him and will instead send him back to Manchester United.

Sancho is left in a state of relative uncertainty. Ruben Amorim has no intention of giving the £73 million player a respite with the Red Devils next season because he receives a substantial salary of £275,000 each week at Old Trafford.

Sancho was playing well even though Chelsea was a slow burner in the Premier League in 2024–2025.

In 42 games across all competitions, he recorded 10 assists and five goals.
