🚨 Tottenham’s First Bid for Osimhen Rejected by Napoli
June 4, 2025 – London/Naples
In a bold move to reinforce their attack ahead of the 2025/26 season, Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly had a first ÂŁ55 million bid rejected by Napoli for star striker Victor Osimhen.
Sources close to the negotiations claim Spurs made an opening offer earlier this week, viewing Osimhen as the marquee signing to spearhead Ange Postecoglou’s evolving frontline. However, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis swiftly turned down the offer, branding it “nowhere near” the valuation of the Nigerian forward.
Napoli are believed to be holding out for a figure closer to ÂŁ100 million, in line with the release clause inserted into Osimhen’s latest contract, signed in late 2023. The 26-year-old forward, who bagged 21 goals in all competitions last season despite Napoli’s underwhelming Serie A campaign, remains one of the hottest names on the market.
“Victor is not for sale unless the clause is met,” a Napoli spokesperson reportedly said. “Tottenham are ambitious, but this offer is not even a conversation starter.”
Tottenham, however, are expected to return with an improved bid, especially with uncertainties surrounding Richarlison’s fitness and Son Heung-min’s long-term role in a more central position.
Osimhen has previously expressed interest in playing in the Premier League, with Manchester United and Chelsea also linked in past windows. Spurs’ participation in next season’s UEFA Europa League may give them an edge in negotiations—if they can match Napoli’s valuation.
