Bayern Munich Chase Milan’s €130M Star Man Before Club World Cup – Blockbuster Deal Brewing?

There are growing reports that Bayern Munich are seriously interested in signing Rafael Leao, but AC Milan have set a huge asking price.

Leao had another up and down season but he remained productive, with 13 goals and 12 assists across all competitions, despite having periods where he wasn’t even a guaranteed starter under both Paulo Fonseca and Sergio Conceicao.

Milan are about to begin a new era with Igli Tare and Massimiliano Allegri in command. Both the new sporting director and the new head coach are believed to want to build around the winger.

Leao in demand

According to MilanNews, confirmations have arrived regarding the news from Germany earlier in the week: Bayern are keen on exploring a deal to sign Leao ahead of the 2025-26 season.

However, Milan’s position is clear in that they want to keep the winger, but there have also been inquiries from some English clubs. The land him, a truly irresistible offer would be needed,

especially given the Rossoneri are protected by his €175m release clause.

Milan are not willing to sell the player for anything less than a mammoth sum because they see the Portuguese as being central to Massimiliano Allegri’s plans.

Meanwhile, Luca Marchetti spoke live on Sky (via MilanNews),

confirming that the Bavarian side want Leao but that Milan want a very high figure, around €130m.

The German champions – who would like to strengthen before the Club World Cup which starts in less than two weeks – do not agree with the valuation set by the Rossoneri.
