🚨 OFFICIAL: Nottingham Forest Sign Goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier from Lille
Nottingham, June 2, 2025 — Nottingham Forest have completed their first signing of the summer transfer window, securing highly-rated French goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier from Lille OSC in a deal reportedly worth £14 million.
The 23-year-old, who kept 12 clean sheets in Ligue 1 last season, arrives at the City Ground with high expectations. Known for his quick reflexes, calm distribution, and commanding presence in the box, Chevalier is seen as a long-term successor to Forest’s current No.1.
Forest manager Nuno EspĂrito Santo (or update with current manager) praised the signing:
> “Lucas is a top talent and brings great competition to our goalkeeping department. He’s young, ambitious, and hungry to prove himself in the Premier League.”
Chevalier, speaking after signing a five-year deal, said:
> “I’m thrilled to join a club with such passion and history. The Premier League is a dream, and I can’t wait to play in front of the Forest fans at the City Ground.”
The French U21 international becomes the latest Ligue 1 export to the Premier League as Forest aim to strengthen after a dramatic battle to secure top-flight survival last season.
