Today, a light aircraft experienced an issue that caused its undercarriage to collapse as it landed, forcing Norwich
Airport to close for several hours.
Two persons were on board when the plane reported a mechanical problem and was forced to divert to the airport.
Units from Carrow, Sprowston, Earlham, Hethersett, Wroxham, and Wymondham were among the fire departments
dispatched to the scene, along with others from throughout Norwich and beyond.
The undercarriage of the plane collapsed when it landed, but the two occupants were unharmed.
A light aircraft carrying two persons diverted to Norwich Airport at 1:48 p.m. due to a reported undercarriage issue,
according to a Norwich Airport spokesperson.
“The undercarriage collapsed upon landing.
