Harry Kane tipped for surprise switch to Aston Villa as Premier League legend Teddy Sheringham backs Bayern Munich striker to make sensational return to England

Premier League legend Teddy Sheringham has tipped Harry Kane to join Chelsea or Aston Villa as he backs the Bayern Munich star to return to England.

Tottenham Hotspur legend Kane left the Lilywhites in the summer of 2023 after having joined the North London side’s youth setup back in 2004. Despite not having won trophies with Spurs, the England captain made a name for himself as one of the best strikers to grace the Premier League, as he scored 213 league goals and looked on course to beat Alan Shearer’s record for most Premier League goals before joining Bayern Munich.

Kane has had a wonderful time at Bayern Munich as he ended up as the Bundesliga top scorer in his first season, but yet again ended up trophyless. However, the England captain looks set to win his first title and is on his way to being the league’s top scorer yet again. Premier League legend Sheringham has backed Kane to return to England, but claimed that he could leave the Bavarians for either Chelsea or Aston Villa instead of returning to Tottenham.

Speaking to Casino Hawks, Sheringham said: “There’ll still be a lot of clubs that will be looking at Harry Kane in the Premier League.

“He’s the finished article, and you’re still going to get two, maybe three years out of Harry Kane at the top level, the way I see it. I think Chelsea could go for him. Nicolas Jackson has done alright, but Kane is at the very highest level.

“You’re also looking at a team like Aston Villa, they might want to go a step further. He is a top player and the finished article, he can give you two or three years so teams will go for him. He is a commodity that people want.”

Bayern Munich have a six-point lead on Bayer Leverkusen with four games left until the end of the season, and as for Kane, he holds a seven-goal lead over Patrik Schick for the race to win the title of the Bundesliga top scorer. The Bavarians will be back in action when they take on Mainz on Saturday, April 26.
