In the competitive European transfer market for a 6′ 3″ international midfielder, Leeds United has finally defeated Hull City.

During the summer transfer window, Leeds United and Hull City will compete for the services of

Austria Vienna midfielder Abubakr Barry.

Since joining the Austrian Bundesliga team on a free transfer from Israeli second-division team Bnei Yehuda last May,

Barry has made an impression, according to a report by Austrian publication Kronen Zietung (via Sport Witness).

As a result, Leeds and Hull have expressed interest in the Gambian international.

With Leeds United at the top of the second division and threatening to return to the Premier League,

and Hull City on the verge of relegation in League One, currently two points ahead of 22nd-place Cardiff City

going into the final stretch, the story will come to a head when the Whites and Tigers know exactly which

league they will be playing in next season.

With everything still up in the air until May, it appears like Leeds and Hull are making early preparations

for summer business. Barry has been recognized as a player who will greatly strengthen their midfield

ranks going into the upcoming season.

Championship rivals Leeds and Hull are both interested in making a transfer for midfielder Barry,

according to a report published by the Austrian tabloid Kronen Zietung (via Sport Witness).

The 24-year-old, who the outlet describes as “technically gifted,” has made an impression in the middle

of the park for Austria Vienna, becoming a consistent starter and a devoted fan favorite.

This season, Barry has made 22 appearances for Austria Vienna, starting 19 of those games and

recording one goal and three assists.
