According to a report from Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, things between Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen are getting very serious.
Maybe so serious, that the Bavarians are ready to bring their closers — Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge:
There have been several meetings and discussions between FC Bayern and the #Wirtz family!
Bayern are ready to make a record-breaking signing already this summer. Despite Uli Hoeneß’s recent public comments. Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge are the driving forces in these talks and will play a key role in possible negotiations with Leverkusen.
No contract extension between Bayer/Wirtz has been agreed yet. Leverkusen still confident to keep him at least until summer 2026.
Man City remain Bayern’s main competitor. But the Wirtz family is still leaning towards a move to Bayern before Wirtz eventually moves abroad one day.

While there are still some rumors that point Wirtz toward a contract extension with Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich — allegedly — having its two senior supervisory board members engaged with talks would — seemingly — indicate that things could be getting serious.
Now…before anyone starts celebrating, there is still a long way to go and Wirtz has flirted with a contract extension for months. At this point, though, it is starting to at least feel like things are trending toward the Germany international making the leap to Bayern Munich this summer.
