Derby County has piqued Paul Warne’s curiosity more than any other League team.
Paul Warne has rejected MK Dons’ interest in taking over the club,
which is a blow in their search for a replacement for Scott Lindsay.
After MK Dons had a terrible start to 2025, losing 11 of 16 League Two games before the New Year,
Lindsay was fired in early March.
Unfortunately, they are currently 19 points outside of the top seven in League Two,
but 10 points above the relegation zone. Ben Gladwin is currently the club’s acting manager.
MK Don’s interest is rejected by Paul Warne.
Between 2022 and 2025, Warne was with Derby, taking over the Rams after they had fallen to League One.
He took them to just outside the play-offs during his early months in charge, before leading them to
automatic promotion during the 2023/24 season.
But on February 7th, he was fired for leading Derby to seven consecutive Championship losses,
which now face relegation under John Eustace.
Warne had previously led Rotherham United into the Championship three times
(in 2018, 2020, and 2022), but his promotion with Derby was his fourth out of League One.
League Two is one level down than Warne.
