The amusing response from a Nottingham Forest star to Mohamed Salah’s new Liverpool deal says a lot.
When Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina learned this morning that Liverpool star Mohamed Salah
had reached an agreement to prolong his stay at Anfield, he was taken aback. For the upcoming two seasons,
the Egyptian is now expected to remain at Anfield.
The question of whether Salah will sign or not has been at the forefront of the season-long
controversy surrounding his future at Anfield. By committing the 32-year-old to the team for at
least the next two seasons, Liverpool has finally put an end to the rumors. By then,
he will have been on Merseyside for ten years.
Even Aina, who normally plays on the far flank to the Egyptian, provided a fantastic response
to hearing out Salah had negotiated fresh terms, a feeling that will be echoed throughout the top flight.
This morning, as he was entering the changing rooms at Forest’s training ground to record a Snapchat,
a teammate yelled at Aina to watch the coverage of Salah and Liverpool’s announcement on Sky Sports News.
“Is he signed? Mohamed has signed again?,” the Nigerian asked,
before saying: “The league is ended! “It’s dead!”
