Frank Lampard gets Coventry City ready for a “psychological” punch before their matchup with Hull City.

In an effort to stay ahead of the pursuing play-off pack, Frank Lampard has urged his Coventry City players to “remain composed” as they get ready to travel to Hull on Monday night.Lampard, whose team has five crucial games left to guarantee their place in the final promotion shake-up, said, “I agree,” but psychologically, moving from 17th to sixth or seventh place since I took over is all positive, and I believe it works to our advantage.

“Other teams may have slipped out after battling up there the entire season. We were two points from the relegation spots when we arrived, and over the first month, we kept working and looking for solutions. After that, the team—kudos to the guys—went on a fantastic run that propelled us to our current position, so everything is fine.

“I’m not getting involved in any of that because Leeds has lost some games lately and Oxford defeated Sheffield United the other day. Both teams are elite.” All attention is on us and the upcoming game.

We must thus maintain our composure and acknowledge that we are in the race right now, but we must play each game as it comes. Go game by game, without a doubt, as there’s no use in forecasting how the run-in will unfold for us or anybody else.

“You see Millwall go to Sheffield United and win — all these different games we keep seeing now,” he continued, watching the games on Tuesday night.
