Focus is beginning to shift towards next season, as the SPFL revealed yesterday that the complete schedule for the opening 33 matches of the 2025/26 Scottish Premiership will be released on Friday, June 20.

Clubs will resume competitive action after the summer break when the new Premiership campaign begins on the weekend 2 and 3 August.

The season is set to conclude on the weekend of 16 and 17 May 2026, with Celtic potentially aiming to seal a fifth consecutive league title.

As Celtic will likely be champions, Rodgers’ men will play their opening game of the 25/26 season at Celtic Park, and it will be shown live on Sky Sports where the league championship flag will be unfurled.

It may be a disrupted August for the Hoops though as they will have to negotiate a tricky Champions League playoff qualifier in order to reach Europe’s elite club competition for a fourth consecutive season.

For now, and in the weeks ahead, their main focus will be on finding their rhythm again and wrapping up what has largely been an impressive season in the best possible fashion…
