Morgan Rogers breaks silence on his Aston Villa form and makes honest admission about his future

Aston Villa attacker Morgan Rogers has scored 13 goals this season and made his England debut before Christmas, but says there is more to come from him

Morgan Rogers believes he has more to offer as he aims to propel Aston Villa to glory this season.

Scoring his 13th goal in Saturday’s 2-1 triumph over Nottingham Forest, Rogers has been crucial in Villa’s pursuit of Champions League qualification.

At just 22 years old and with eight assists to his name, he’s having a standout season and even made his England debut prior to Christmas.

Rogers is determined to keep excelling, explaining to Villa’s club website: “I’m focused and I just want to keep going and not let the outside noise change the way I am, the way I’m training and playing, and my attitude,”.

He added, expressing gratitude towards his family’s support: “I just want to keep going and keep improving. It’s nice to have my family at home who are proud of me, those are really nice moments.

“I just want to keep improving and to keep shining, and that’s what I’ll continue to do.”

Villa’s impressive streak of seven consecutive victories shows they’re competing across the board, being the sole English club fighting on three fronts.

They’re gearing up for a Champions League quarter-final first leg clash with Paris St-Germain on Wednesday and a showdown with Crystal Palace in the FA Cup semi-final later in the month.

Rogers reflected on the significance of the Forest game for their Champions League ambitions: “We knew going into the game that we had to win ultimately if we wanted to challenge and get into the Champions League positions, which we set out to do at the start of the season,” he remarked.

“We were against a good team who are in great form and we knew it was going to be difficult, but we started the game incredibly well and got two goals. That settled us down and got us playing.”
