Chris Davies wants his Birmingham City title chasers to ‘correct’
the one performance this season that he’s had to apologise for.
Blues were shocked by today’s opponents Shrewsbury Town when the two teams met back in November.
Salop were bottom of the League One table at the time, as they are now, but battled to a 3-2 win over leaders Blues at the Croud Meadow.
“I’m not inside the players’ heads but I would hope they would have the same
feelings as me about that game, that it was a very disappointing day,” he said.
“When you have that, and you get the opportunity to play that opposition again,
then you should have the feeling that you want to put that right. And I do get the sense that they want that.
“It’s a game of football, it’s worth three points if you win,
that’s what it is ultimately, but it was a day where we didn’t do ourselves justice so we want to try and correct that.”
Blues have had few more important days in the context of their season than their defeat in Shropshire.
They won their next eight matches in all competitions and embarked upon an 18-game unbeaten run in League One that was only recently halted by Bolton.
