Peterborough United Blasts Birmingham City – Vows to Take Action!
Peterborough United have been made aware of potential ticket touting and have threatened stadium bans to any guilty parties
Peterborough United have released a statement ahead of next month’s Vertu Trophy final against Birmingham City at Wembley and have promised that stadium bans await anybody who sells tickets in their end to their Blues equivalents.
Posh have been informed of Blues fans, who missed out on tickets in the Blues end, offering money to Peterborough supporters to buy tickets on their behalf on the opposing side of the stadium. Blues are taking more than 43,000 to Wembley, a number which dwarfs that of their opponents.
Any Peterborough fan wishing to go, who hasn’t already purchased their ticket, will have to have had an account with the club’s online ticketing system since before 1 January 2025 and having had bought tickets previously – otherwise they’ll have to contact the club directly.
Anyone found to be contravening the rules will be banned from attending games at the Weston Homes Stadium in the future and their contact details will sent to the police for the act of touting.
“The Club are aware that Birmingham City supporters are targeting Posh supporters via social media offering financial incentive to purchase tickets for the Vertu Trophy Final on their behalf in our end of Wembley Stadium,” Peterborough’s statement read.
