Leeds United set to beat Everton to sign £12m Norwich City star Jonathan Rowe
Leeds United are putting plans in place for the summer as they wait for the team to secure automatic promotion to the Premier League. The Whites want to attack the market as soon as promotion is guaranteed and the club have already identified several targets.
The Whites want to strengthen across all areas of their squad if they get promoted, as they are aware that the gulf between the Premier League and the Championship has widened.
Leeds United have their eyes on reinforcements in defence, midfield and attack, and the club are also looking to bring in new players for the wide areas of the squad.
Daniel James and Manor Solomon have been impressive, but Daniel Farke wants more depth in that area of the squad if they are in the Premier League next season.
Leeds United plot to poach a player from Norwich City
Jonathan Rowe left Norwich to join Marseille on loan last summer, and the French giants have an obligation to buy him for a fee little over the £12m mark.
Marseille have overstretched themselves in recent windows and are expected to sell Rowe in the next summer window after buying him from the Canaries.
According to Jeunes Footeux, Leeds United emerged as a potential destination for the winger in the next summer transfer window.
The Whites will be in the market for wingers, and Rowe is a potential target for the Yorkshire giants as part of their transfer plans.
The winger is well-versed in English football and has a smattering of experience playing in the Premier League as well, under Daniel Farke.
However, Leeds will face competition from Everton who are also considering snapping up the Norwich City winger in the summer.
A cut-price deal will make sense to Leeds
Leeds would need players with Premier League experience in their squad next season if they are in the top flight, and Rowe is one such player.
He came through the Norwich academy and Farke is an admirer of a player who broke into the first team at Carrow Road under the German’s tutelage.
However, Leeds cannot afford to spend large sums of money on him, and a deal will only make sense if he is available for a reasonable fee.
Rowe has the experience of playing in England and should not need time to adapt, but any deal will have to make financial sense to Leeds.
