Gabby Agbonlahor wants Celtic revenge on Vaclav Cerny as he tells Callum McGregor and co how to avenge Watergate windup
The talkSport host found the Rangers star’s Parkhead celebration hilarious but admits he’d be gunning for the Czech in the next game
Gabby Agbonlahor has told Celtic how they should wreak revenge on Watergate windup merchant Vaclav Cerny.
The Rangers star made himself aLight Blues cult hero with his celebration following Gers’ late winner at Parkhead earlier this month, as the Czech reacted to Hamza Igamane’s late winner by sprinting down the touchline from the dugout and squirting fuming Celtic fans with his water bottle as he went.
They were unsurprisingly none too pleased and police, security officials, as well as a member of Rangers’ backroom staff seated behind the dugout had to calm the situation down as fans focused their fury on the visiting bench. Police Scotland have since launched a probe into the incident with enquiries ongoing.
But talkSport co-host Agbonlahor, who has a major soft spot for the Hoops, admitted he found the incident “hilarious” despite his allegiances.
However, he’s made it clear what he would do if he was a Celtic player when the pair clash for the final time this season after the split and has urged Callum McGregor and co to get even.
Brazil: “What about the squirting of the water?”
Agbonlahor: “I found it hilarious mate.”
Brazil: “Do you know what I mean? Just move on eh.”
Agbonlahor: “Do you know how petty I am Al? If I was a Celtic player, Callum McGregor or something and we play them next time, when he’s not looking or at half-time walking off…I’m squirting him, right after the game. I’m getting the water bottle and I’m going to squirt him in the face with it.”
“It’s petty isn’t it? It’s not a big deal and it’s quite funny.”
Brazil: “Obviously the Celtic supporters were raging because 2-2 would have been a good result after being 2-0 down. Then they were raging, and when he squirts them, it just antagonises them. But you’ve got to think afterwards ‘ah forget it.'”
Agbonlahor: “It’s the team that you really hate, your biggest rival and their player, after conceding a late goal, has squirted you in the face. You’d be fuming Al, in your corporate seat if someone squirted you in the face? Of course you would.”
Brazil: “I was gutted with the result but at the end of the day, it was a cracking game to watch. Rangers had chances – Celtic at the back were murder. Honestly, murder. No McGregor, that was a big miss.”
Agbonlahor: “I want to see Rangers now push on and make the league be tight next season. It’s more fun and good for Scottish football when it’s tighter, isn’t it?”
Brazil: “I’ve always said that but I get shot down in flames.”
