Newcastle United’s 65,000-seat stadium is ready for construction, the legendary designer tells PIF.
PIF, the Newcastle United chief executive, is nearing a decision over St. James’ Park’s future.
PIF introduced “project 2030” at Newcastle United earlier this month, outlining a five-year strategy to make the Magpies a dominant force in English football.
Winning a trophy was one of the project’s four pillars. To cross that goal off their list, Newcastle will celebrate the Carabao Cup on March 29.
The construction of a new stadium was another. A final decision is anticipated soon after PIF visited St. James’ Park in February to further examine the stadium designs.
Newcastle has submitted their stadium designs to the government, who must approve the proposal in order for it to proceed. PIF thought about renovating St. James’ Park, but it appears that a new stadium is the better option.
Newcastle Stadium is the project that the Everton stadium designer wants to work on.
There are other Premier League teams considering stadium changes besides Newcastle.
Newcastle supporters responded to Manchester United’s stadium, which is reportedly expected to hold 100,000 people, earlier this month.
In February, Newcastle supporters had a sneak peek at Everton’s stadium, which will host the Toffees starting in the upcoming season at Bramley Moore Dock.
