Exclusive: “Tottenham midfielders will resign” as Wolves transfer rumors circulate
As the team considers a bid for a Wolves player who is expected to cost at least £50 million,
Tottenham may see a number of midfielders leave the team this summer.
North London may see yet another summer of transformation. Daniel Levy may fire Ange Postecoglou,
who has an uncertain future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. On the pitch, though, things can also alter.
Since Yves Bissouma’s long-term future is still up in the air, Spurs already have a number of midfield players.
Tottenham also has Pape Matar Sarr, James Maddison, Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall,
and Dejan Kulusevski on their roster, and Rodrigo Bentancur may depart as well.
As reported by GiveMeSport (21 March), Tottenham are contemplating launching a bid for Wolves
midfielder João Gomes, who will cost a minimum of £50m, in the summer transfer window.
As a result, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes this
means some players already in North London could be on the move in the summer.
“However, if reports are coming out that they’re looking at new midfield players,
I would have thought they’d be aiming higher than this. Gomes might be a decent player,
but he hasn’t exactly been the outstanding player for Wolves in a disappointing season.”
