Wolves sign £19m winger and midfielder from Crystal Palace in dream Xi

Wolves have the chance to bring in some signings this summer when the new transfer window opens for business. They also have the opportunity to let some players head out the exit door to help free up space and funds.

The Midlands are currently sat in 17th place in the table and won away at Southampton last time out before the international break. Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town make up the bottom three below them.

Vitor Pereira was picked as their replacement for Gary O’Neil earlier this season. We have asked AI (Grok) to predict five signings and incorporate them into a best starting XI…

Goalkeeper and defenders

Wolves have been predicted to sign Guillaume Restes from Toulouse to replace Jose Sa. AI has said: “Wolves have previously shown interest in the France U21 international, having made an approach for him last summer, though it was quickly rebuffed. If Sam Johnstone were to leave the club, Restes could be a target again, given his promising profile and Wolves’ ongoing need to manage their goalkeeping options. At 20 years old, he represents a young, high-potential option who could develop into a long-term asset for the team.”

Nelson Semedo, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Emmanuel Agbadou would keep their places in the starting XI. The latter joined in January from Stade de Reims.

Nico Elvedi has been backed to move to Molineux from Borussia Monchengladbach. AI has said: “Wolves have shown interest in the 27-year-old Swiss international in the past, and with a reported release clause of around €10 million, he could be an affordable option. Elvedi’s experience in the Bundesliga and his versatility as a centre-back make him a strong candidate to bolster Wolves’ defensive line, especially if they’re looking for a reliable and proven player to complement their squad.”

Midfielders and attacker

Joao Gomes is a key player in the middle of the park. He has made 27 appearances in the league in this campaign and has scored three goals.

AI has tipped Pereira’s side to sign Cheick Doucoure from Crystal Palace. AI has said: “The Malian international has been linked with Wolves previously, notably in the 2023 transfer window, and could be a realistic target if Palace’s valuation—reportedly around £20 million at the time—aligns with Wolves’ budget. Doucouré’s defensive tenacity and ability to break up play in midfield would add steel to Wolves’ engine room, complementing their existing options and providing a strong presence in the Premier League.”

Jack Clarke has been predicted to complete a surprise switch from Ipswich Town. AI has said: “The 24-year-old English winger has been on Wolves’ radar in the past, with interest noted during the 2023 transfer window when Sunderland valued him at around £20 million. Clarke’s pace, flair, and proven goal-scoring ability in the Championship—combined with his potential to step up to the Premier League—make him an exciting option to enhance Wolves’ attacking width and dynamism on the flanks.”

Crysencio Summerville, who is valued at £19million on Transfermarkt, is another winger who AI believe could join Wolves. He has been on the books at West Ham since joining them from Leeds United last year. AI has said: “The 23-year-old Dutch winger has attracted attention from several Premier League clubs, including Wolves, due to his impressive performances in the Championship. Known for his speed, dribbling, and goal-scoring ability, Summerville could be a dynamic addition to Wolves’ attack.”

Jacob Strand Larsen and Matheus Cunha would then lead the line up top. They are two crucial assets and the latter penned a new deal earlier this term.

Wolves’ best starting XI: Restes; Semedo, Elvedi, Agbadou, Ait-Nouri; Gomes, Doucoure, Summerville, Clarke; Larsen, Cunha
