Championship Clubs on Edge: Tom Brady-Backed Birmingham City Unveils Bold Summer Transfer Plan That’s Already Sparking Fear Across the League!
Birmingham City are on course to win promotion to the Championship and are expected to improve their squad heavily in the summer.
The Blues recently experienced one of the lowest points in their history, suffering relegation to League One for the first time since the third tier was rebranded in the early 2000s.
Less than 12 months after their relegation, Tom Brady’s promise to Birmingham City is coming true.
The Midlands outfit face Peterborough United in the EFL Trophy final next month, looking to win their first piece of silverware for over a decade.
Meanwhile, Birmingham are dominating League One and are expected to go up as champions having already established a very healthy lead over Wycombe Wanderers and Wrexham.
Birmingham City set for ‘aggressive’ summer transfer window
When they do go up, Brady’s team are expected to have a very productive 2025 summer transfer window.
EFL Anyalsis have spoken exclusively to Graeme Bailey about Birmingham and their plans for the summer.
And he told us that Chris Davies’ side are going to be ‘aggressive’ in the market as they look to ‘do an Ipswich’.
He said: “Birmingham want to get to the Premier League at the first attempt. I am told they will be one of the most aggressive sides in England this summer.
“They want promotion and will back Chris Davies with everything they have. They are determined to do an Ipswich and secure back-to-back promotions.”
Despite their promotion not being made official just yet, Bailey added that some Championship teams already fear Birmingham.
He told us: “I know a number of Championship clubs are fearful of what they could do given they also have to compete with the three relegated Premier League sides.”
Birmingham City have already completed one transfer
While the 2025 summer transfer window won’t be open for several months, Birmingham already have one player joining them ahead of next season.
Phil Neumann will make the move to England from German outfit Hannover 96 when his contract expires in June of this year.
On landing the centre-back, manager Davies said, as per Birmingham Live: “They’re at the top of Bundesliga II and trying to get promoted.
“We’ve tracked Phil for a while, we know a lot about him.
“As soon as I saw him and scouted him, in the summer I looked at him and I really liked the look of him; strong player, can bring the ball out from defence but defends well, and he’s quick. I’m glad to get that done and I look forward to him joining us in the summer.
