Evangelos Marinakis sent warning over Nottingham Forest star as contract talks go silent
Nottingham Forest are having a great season in the Premier League and currently occupy third place.
This season hasn’t proved to be a fluke.
After beating Liverpool in September – the only side to do so in the Premier League all season – many predicted that would be as good as it got for the Reds.
With just nine games to go, however, the Reds are firmly in the mix for Champions League football and Forest refuse to give up their place in third.
The success has been built on a number of strong performers. Shay Given has hailed Chris Wood for his 18 goals, whilst Morgan Gibbs-White has earned an England call on the back of his form.
Jason Cundy praises Nottingham Forest star Ola Aina
The form of Aina has been a hot topic for discussion among a host of pundits this season.
Forest had been in talks with Aina over a new deal, although things feel like they’ve gone a little bit quiet which is a worry.
With that in mind, TalkSPORT pundit Jason Cundy has fired a warning to Evangelos Marinakis and suggested – albeit indirectly – that Forest need to keep Aina.
He claimed: “One player who I think needs a mention is Ola Aina. For me, and I mean this, he’s the best right back in the Premier League at the moment, he’s been absolutely brilliant.”

The 27-year-old is currently away with Nigeria on international duty and this season he’s been a revelation for the Reds.
Last season, he was largely considered as the team’s left-back but Neco Williams has made that position his own this season.
Aina is being linked with Manchester City and as a result, Forest can’t delay any longer when it comes to getting him signed to a long-term contract with the club.
The defender has showcased his versatility and ultimately, he’s been an integral part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad during this season’s exploits.
