Exclusive: Lee Hendrie believes Sheffield United will complete a “no-brainer” Swansea City transfer this summer.
Lee Hendrie believes Sheffield United will complete the summer signing of Swansea City’s Harry Darling,
as Chris Wilder’s side aims for an immediate return to the Premier League.
The Blades have expressed a strong interest in the centre-back in recent months,
with The Star claiming in January that the South Yorkshire club was trying to sign him to reinforce
their defensive unit following Harry Souttar’s season-ending injury.
While a winter move fell through, the 25-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season,
and with no clear indication that he would sign just yet, it would not be surprising if the
Championship’s second-place team targets him again in the summer.
Hendrie wants Sheffield United to complete the Darling deal.
Swansea have had another forgettable season, struggling in the Championship’s lower tiers once more,
with their Premier League exploits in the 2010s seeming increasingly distant.
There is uncertainty surrounding the Swansea.com Stadium, as a permanent manager
has yet to be appointed following Luke Williams’ dismissal, and this might have a significant
impact on Darling’s future at the club, therefore Sheffield United must seize the opportunity.
