Leeds United star Manor Solomon suggests QPR player should have been sent off on Instagram
It was a frustrating afternoon for Leeds United as The Whites failed to secure a win and pile the pressure on their Championship promotion rivals, managing only a 2-2 draw with QPR.
Goals from Junior Firpo – or an own goal from Morgan Fox – and the Jayden Bogle got Leeds back into a game they had been trailing 2-0, following Koki Saito’s opener and then Steve Cook heading home.
QPR has not been a happy place to go for Leeds in recent years. Daniel Farke watched his Leeds side lose 4-0 at Loftus Road last season, while on the edge of automatic promotion and ultimately, fading after it.
Marcelo Bielsa lost three times to QPR during his four-year stint. They are Leeds’ bogey team but Manor Solomon thinks Leeds should have had it a whole lot easier after a moment just 21 minutes into the draw.
Manor Solomon suggests Jimmy Dunne should have seen red
With Leeds trailing 1-0, Solomon was trying to take the game to QPR and end a run without a goal or an assist that has now stretched to six games, if Firpo’s goal does get ruled as a Morgan Fox own goal.
Going past a couple of players inside the QPR half, Solomon was swiped by Jimmy Dunne and it saw the Irish defender get a yellow card with Solomon thrown into the air and feeling the effects of the tackle.
On Sunday, Solomon posted on his Instagram story a clip of Dunne’s tackle. Given the defender was shown a yellow card, clearly Solomon’s reaction feels the tackle deserved more, possibly a red card.
The tackle was not the only thing to frustrate Manor Solomon
Clearly, the race for promotion and Solomon’s own ability to score or lay on assists is getting to the Israel ace. He was substituted on the 83rd minute by Farke and it angered the on-loan Tottenham attacker.
Farke was asked about the incident in which Solomon took his anger out on a corner flag following the decision to take him off. Farke said he liked to see that kind of frustration in coming off in his players.
For Solomon now, he will at least be able to calm down and breathe as the international break kicks in. The winger will be in action for his country as Israel go up against Estonia and Norway next week.
