Prior to the trip to Preston North End, a former Nottingham Forest player responds to Portsmouth’s defensive SOS.

Portsmouth has bolstered their defense in preparation for their trip to Deepdale this weekend.
In an attempt to acquire center-back Alexander Milosevic, John Mousinho has entered the free-agent market.

As the Blues experience yet another injury issue at the core of their backline, the 33-year-old has responded to their SOS.

Pompey has added more cover after the head coach announced at the beginning of March that Rob Atkinson,

a loanee from Bristol City, will be sidelined for an extended period of time with a calf injury,

while January newcomer Hayden Matthews will miss the rest of the season owing to an ankle injury.

Since fellow center-back Conor Shaughnessy isn’t anticipated to return to training until the end of March,

the two put more pressure on the team’s already lengthy injury list. Ibane Bowat, however, has not played

since leaving Fulham in the summer after suffering a knee injury that kept him out of action for the

remainder of the season in September. As a result, the only two healthy central defenders at

Fratton Park are Regan Poole and Ryley Towler.

Captain Marlon Pack has been brought in to support Poole in the center of defense.
