Rooney makes light of assuming Everton manager David Moyes’ position.

Wayne Rooney has a long way to go before following David Moyes’ example as a manager,

and his tenure hasn’t been very successful thus far.

Rooney, who previously struggled at Birmingham City, is currently out of management

following another unsuccessful stint in the Championship with Plymouth Argyle.

Since Rooney was included in Leon Osman’s finest XI, this obviously doesn’t

duplicate what the former England international accomplished as a player.

Rooney became the best player in England’s history thanks to Moyes, who fostered

his skill at Everton. The Scotsman was the first manager he played for during his career.

But after making a lighthearted remark at Everton’s new stadium, Rooney hasn’t returned the favor.

Rooney makes jokes about replacing David Moyes as Everton’s manager.
Rooney made his Everton debut at the age of sixteen, and Moyes helped him develop as a player.

Five days prior to his seventeenth birthday, Rooney scored the game-winning goal against

Arsenal in the last seconds, and many Evertonians will recall where they were.

Since the former Toffees player left Goodison Park for Manchester United quite early on,

Jamie Carragher’s controversial claim that Rooney wasn’t an Everton legend is up for debate.
