
Glasgow dad’s untimely death in Istanbul shocked the Rangers community, and in only two hours, £23k was raised.
The family of a Rangers supporter who died in an Istanbul traffic accident has
received thousands of pounds in donations.
Before Rangers’ game against Fenerbahçe this evening (March 6), Christopher Potter,
a husband and father from Glasgow’s east end, had traveled to the Turkish city.
The unfortunate demise was reported by Rangers early on Thursday,
March 6. Over £23,000 was raised for Christopher’s family in just two hours,
and the GoFundMe organizer stated that the money will be used for “getting him home” or burial expenses.

Friends said that Christopher “lived for his family and football club” before he
was hit by a car while attempting to cross the street. When he took out cash from an
ATM on his way back to his hotel, the event happened at the traffic lights in front
of the Naval Museum in Beşiktaş at approximately 4.30 am local time,
according to Ekol TV reporter Çağdaş Evren �enlik.
The Rangers community has been shocked by the awful news,
and condolences are coming in droves.
Mandy Everett replied, “Very heartbroken,” to Gavin Kerr’s statement,
“I’m still trying to process this, devastated…love you ma boy Christopher Potter.
” Christopher, you were among the greatest. Rest in peace.
