Daniel Farke questioned for “alarming” Largie Ramazani situation at Leeds United

Leeds United winger Largie Ramazani has not been given as many starts as he would have hoped for this season.

The 24-year-old completed his move to Elland Road from Spanish side UD Almeria for a fee in the region of £10 million during the summer transfer window.

However, despite the fact that Leeds spent a significant amount of money to sign him, he has only been handed seven Championship starts by Daniel Farke so far this term.

He has only been used as a substitute since the turn of the year, and he was left on the bench during both of Leeds’ last two games, against Sheffield United and West Bromwich Albion, so it would be no surprise if the Belgian is growing frustrated in West Yorkshire.

Fan pundit believes Leeds are wasting Ramazani

We asked our Leeds fan pundit, Kris Smith, whether he thinks the signing of Ramazani was money well spent, given that he has not had much of an impact recently.

“I think any talk or discussion about whether Ramazani has not been worth the money, or whether he has not had the impact that Leeds fans would like, I think it all comes down to management from Daniel Farke,” said Kris.

“At the moment, we have got three attackers starting behind Joel Piroe that are seemingly undroppable in Farke’s eyes.

“Whether that is Dan James, who probably actually is, by definition, undroppable, because he is consistently playing out of his skin and coming up with important goals and assists.

“Manor Solomon has shown his class in a good run of games between December and February, but it was only against poor teams. He has never really done it against the top six in this league.

“Or Brenden Aaronson, who has just been straight poor for months now, and he needs to be dropped.

“I think it is fine for Farke to start these players for certain reasons. With Solomon, we know what he can do. With Aaronson, he is good without the ball. With James, he is just good full stop.

“I think the fact that Ramazani is not even getting off the bench, when Aaronson and Solomon for two games in a row now have not been good, is quite alarming.

“I do think that if Ramazani did not get injured against Watford back in October, he would be flying right now, and there would not be a debate over whether he should be in the starting lineup or not.

“I think Farke’s stubbornness and unwillingness to rotate his team to keep things fresh and keep that competition alive in his attack means that, unfortunately, Ramazani is not getting the chances that he deserves.

“As a result of that, we are wasting one of the most talented players in our squad by having him on the bench.”

Ramazani could yet have a say in the title race

Leeds are currently three points clear of second-placed Sheffield United with 11 games remaining, so Ramazani could get an opportunity to have an impact on the title race in the Championship.

Despite the majority of his appearances having been as a substitute, he has scored four goals and provided two assists so far this term, and he has shown on a number of occasions that he has the ability to perform at this level.

Ramazani will no doubt hope that he can produce a big moment between now and the end of the season, as his Leeds career has not yet panned out how he would have hoped for when he joined the club last year.
