‘Stoke legends invited to celebrate at special event this weekend
CLUB legends and heroes from seasons past are invited to reunite for a special celebration ahead of ‘Stoke’s next match at the weekend.
Th open invitation is for anyone who has ever played for Basingstoke Town FC’s senior teams to reconnect with teammates and enjoy an afternoon of football together.
Basingstoke Town FC say they are “delighted” to announce Legends Day on Saturday, March 8, ahead of its fixture against Chertsey Town at the Winklebury Football Complex in a 3pm kick off.
Jack Miller, chairman of Basingstoke Town FC, expressed his enthusiasm for the day, he said: “Basingstoke Town has a proud history, and this is a great opportunity for former players to come together, share memories, and reconnect with each other and our fans.
“As we continue to build for the future, it’s important that we also honour our past.
“Now that we have The Clubhouse, we have the perfect setting to host these kinds of events and strengthen our club’s community.”
This special occasion provides an for old teammates to com together and reminisce about past glories.
A statement on the club’s website says: “As a token of appreciation for their contributions to the club over the years, all former players will be entitled to a free ticket for the match.”
If you are an ex-player and would like to attend, email legends@btfc.co.uk with your name, the season(s) you played for the club, and any additional information that could also be included in the special matchday programme for the day.
“We encourage all ex-BTFC players to join us for what promises to be a memorable afternoon; The Clubhouse opens from 12pm, the match kicks off at 3pm and then The Clubhouse will be open in to the evening. If you know any former players who may be interested, please spread the word.
“We look forward to welcoming you back to Basingstoke Town FC.”
