Leeds ready to welcome loaned-out player back to squad for season in PL
Jack Harrison’s future at Leeds United may have been decided as his season-long loan deal with Everton is coming to an end.
The attacker has been a hot topic of conversation at Elland Road over the past couple of seasons with the Englishman immediately jumping ship as soon as the West Yorkshire outfit found themselves relegated to the Championship.
He’s spent the last couple of years on loan with Everton as a result of their relegation and now we’re getting closer to the end of the term, questions are starting to get asked about the attacker’s future.
While Daniel Farke’s men have been one of the most dominant forces in the second tier this term, they’re under no illusion that reinforcement will be needed to survive in the top flight with multiple positions likely needing to be strengthened.
Harrison could play for Leeds in the Premier League next season
If a new report from LeedsUnited.news (4 March) is to be believed, Harrison could be on his way back to Elland Road and potentially even play a role in their Premier League campaign next season.
Graeme Bailey shared an update on the former Manchester City man’s future and claimed that he could become an “invaluable” member of Leeds’ squad due to his experience in the top flight.
“Leeds at this moment believe he is more likely to return than not, he has not done badly but with the change of manager and hierarchy, it seems they will go in another direction,” he said.
“Leeds are prepared for this and there will be no issues with seeing Harrison return in the Premier League, he is a Premier League player and his experience could be invaluable to Leeds next season.”
Farke cannot allow Harrison into his first-team
If there’s one area of Leeds’ squad that has impressed the most this season, it’s their attack.
Players such as Manor Solomon and Dan James have really come into their own and to be quite frank, the Whites’ attack seems levels above that of their opponents.
While Harrison’s versatility and Premier League experience could prove key next term, it’s highly unlikely that he’d be accepted back by fans and judging from his form from the 2024/25 campaign thus far, he likely wouldn’t have that much of an impact.
Sealing a permanent deal for Solomon should be on top of Farke’s priority list because at the end of the day, without the Israel international among their ranks this term, they’d be much worse off.
And, if they do manage to pry him away from Tottenham in the summer, they’d have no reason to keep Harrison around so his sale could end up funding the arrival of the former Shakhtar Donetsk man.
Indeed, only time will tell what the future holds but for now, Farke has a massive decision to make regarding his teams’ future.
