With a major rise in anxiety, The Friedkin Group rejects Everton shareholders.

David Moyes has been the driving force behind Everton’s on-field success since the installation of The Friedkin Group.

After years of fighting against relegation, Everton looked destined to lose,

but Moyes has masterminded the revival from a footballing point of view.

However, TFG has been unable to really showcase their ambition for the Merseysiders,

as they are limited in what they can do in the winter transfer window,

with much of the hopes hanging on the near future ahead of a move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

Having said that, some worries have already surfaced ahead of that move regarding a request from minority

Everton shareholders being denied by the new owners.

While many will only be evaluating TFG based on their actions on the field, many will also consider their off-field activities to be equally significant,

with some worries already beginning to surface in that regard.

As of January, it was estimated that 1,500 Everton supporters held a minority share in the club, with 8,000 shares total among them, totaling 135,000.

However, since the takeover was approved, the club’s share count has increased to over 1.6 million,

causing a “dramatic collapse” in value, according to a report from The Times (3 March).

This has caused a great deal of anxiety for its shareholders, whose request to meet with the new owner was promptly denied by interim CEO Colin Chong, who stated that TFG “did not consider such a meeting necessary.”

As a result, stakeholders feel nearly worthless in TFG’s eyes, and Everton has not yet to comment on their behalf.

Since TFG owns a 99.5% stake in the team and has already influenced the Merseysiders on the field, their relationship with the club is already in jeopardy.

Despite the fact that the takeover has been a net positive for Everton, those who will be impacted by the changes will remain frustrated until they receive answers.

With another Premier League season ahead, those who have an interest in the team are unlikely

to allow this matter to fester until they are thought important enough to meet with the owners.
