After revealing the Rangers takeover, Ally McCoist shares the Leeds United verdict.
The 49ers made their initial investment in Leeds in 2018, increased their ownership in 2021,
and eventually acquired full ownership of the West Yorkshire team in 2023.
The Whites have since had two successful seasons at the top of the Championship,
and although though they were not promoted to the Premier League the previous season,
they now appear to be headed in the right direction.
At Leeds, Ally McCoist delivers the 49ers’ conclusion. This season,
United Rangers has entirely collapsed, making them a team in crisis.
However, fans will undoubtedly feel more at ease about the future after learning that the 49ers are a part of an agreed takeover at Ibrox with Andrew Cavenagh on March 3.
It is hardly surprising that West Yorkshire is on the minds of the Scottish Premiership team’s supporters as they consider what the future may hold.
Ally McCoist was full of admiration for the work the 49ers have done at Elland Road and expressed optimism for similar results when asked how the 49ers owning both teams could impact Rangers.
“To me, Leeds United looks in a good place,” the Gers veteran stated during a live appearance on talkSPORT on March 4, 9:22 a.m.
They don’t appear to go all out, spend a lot of money, or go overboard.
“I’d be content if you could have the same kind of change Leeds has experienced in and around the team.
They appear to have a strong organizational foundation. I’d be thrilled if we could get a decent manager and talented players.
Under the 49ers, Leeds United is a team with aspirations.
Although Leeds United’s stature and history have always been admired by supporters of rival teams,
the Whites have not performed at the level that is often expected of them for far too long.
They have accomplished this in a sustainable manner, though, in addition to being in a
fantastic position right now, leading the Championship by three points.
The continuation of a project at Elland has been made possible by Daniel Farke’s good appointment and support after the team missed out on promotion the previous season.
The Whites will undoubtedly need to bring in new players if they are promoted to the Premier League in order to keep their place in the top division.
But the team also has a number of excellent players who will undoubtedly be prepared to step up.
Rangers should undoubtedly be anticipating life under the 49ers if they want their trajectory to resemble Leeds’ since taking over.
