We’re commemorating the 50th anniversary of Derby County’s second coronation
as monarchs of England with a special edition of the Derby Telegraph.
The Rams dominated the nation in the 1974–75 season under Dave Mackay’s management,
and our outstanding “Champions Again!” supplement reflects on that incredible run.
After finishing two points ahead of runners-up Liverpool, the Rams were awarded the
Division One trophy for the second time on the final Saturday of April 1975.

Manchester City, for the Rams.
We examine how Mackay guided the Rams back to the top when Peter Taylor and Brian Clough,
who had guided the team to their first League title in 1971–72, resigned in controversy.
