“Mocking the Mocks: The Athletic Predicts Armand Membou to the Bears”

As experts have a better understanding of who they believe each club will select, the first-round mocks will eventually begin to blur together throughout mock draft season. However, as of right now, there is still a significant amount of diversity at the top of the draft, and the most recent report from The Athletic showed the Chicago Bears taking a different approach.

The Athletic’s newest mock draft was assembled by eight of its college football writers. These guys have discussed each prospect’s career, and here is how they have the Bears laughing at 10

10. Armand Membou, OT, Missouri, Chicago Bears

With a top-10 pick, the offensive line is prioritized because Bears quarterback Caleb Williams was fired 68 times during his debut season. He is now the fifth-ranked offensive lineman in the country and the seventh-ranked run blocker overall, according to Pro Football Focus. Membou might play inside or at tackle for Chicago if left tackle Braxton Jones’ recuperation from an ankle ailment affects his future. Membou was a bulldozer at right tackle for the Tigers. He is an improvement for new coach Ben Johnson wherever he plays. — Scott Dochterman.

Even if the Bears decided to try to keep Membou at tackle, he would have to switch positions because Danrell Wright appears to be firmly established as Chicago’s right tackle. Membou (6’3″, 332) is most likely playing guard in the NFL.

Even though Membou may have a fantastic NFL career, I wouldn’t be pleased with this decision if the actual draft went this way.

This is how their mock’s first nine choices performed.

1. Tennessee Titans: Cam Ward, QB, Miami

2. Cleveland Browns: Abdul Carter, DE, Penn State

3. New York Giants: Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado

4. New England: Will Campbell, OT, LSU

5. Jacksonville Jaguars: Jalon Walker, LB/Edge, Georgia

6. Las Vegas Raiders: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

7. New York Jets: Mason Graham, DT, Michigan

8. Carolina Panthers: Mike Green, Edge, Marshall

9. New Orleans Saints: Mykel Williams, Edge, Georgia

What would you want the Bears to do in this scenario?
