Former Leeds United captain Liam Cooper makes incredible prediction about Raphinha
Raphinha has probably exceeded anything Leeds United fans expected of the Brazilian as the Barcelona winger continues to shine.
The former Leeds attacker has been firing on all cylinders since his move from Elland Road to Spain.
Stuart Dallas compared Omar Marmoush to Raphinha, as Man City seems to have found the next Premier League version of the 28-year-old.
Whatever comes next in his career, Raphinha will always hold his development in Yorkshire close to his heart.
Former Whites captain Liam Cooper still admires Raphinha from the time they played with each other and has even made an extraordinary prediction about the winger’s future.
Liam Cooper’s prediction on former Leeds United star Raphinha
Cooper himself was a club legend at Leeds, captaining the side for ten years.
He even hopes for a future at the club, as Cooper wants to be Leeds Sporting Director in a career ambition for the Scotsman.
It seems as though Raphinha can have a much brighter future, though, as Cooper has predicted him to win the most prestigious award in football, but he must do these two things.
Raphinha has been tearing it up with Barcelona both in the league and on the European stage, so his name will no doubt be in the hat for the Ballon d’Or.
“If they win the Champions League and Brazil do something, he’ll get the Ballon d’Or,” Cooper said to MailOnline.
Whether Leeds have a Ballon d’Or clause for Raphinha
Raphinha left Leeds for £50 million, which was seen as good value for money then, but now looking back, they could’ve doubled this.
It makes for a more frustrating point of view when you find out Leeds are still waiting for Raphinha’s profit as it turns out Victor Orta made a howler with the deal.
Speaking on the deal, it is unknown whether a Ballon d’Or clause has been included, but judging by how Orta has handled the actual move, it seems unlikely.
The Whites should be grateful though, as Raphinha almost rejected a move to Leeds, but they’ll be thankful he didn’t for what he’s done for the club.
Copper clearly holds the Brazilian in high regard, and there’s no reason why he can’t go on to becoming the best player in the world.
