A striker returns amid five changes for Stoke City against Watford when a midfielder becomes ill.
Mark Robins makes five changes for Stoke City against Watford,
as Ali Al-Hamadi returns to lead the line.
Every department has been reorganized, with Junior Tchamadeu returning at right-back,
Lewis Koumas returning on the wing, and Ben Pearson and Jordan Thompson returning in midfield.
Ashley Phillips, Ben Wilmot, Enda Stevens, and Tchamadeu form the back four behind
Viktor Johansson at the beginning. Koumas and Bae Junho support Al-Hamadi,
while Thompson and Pearson play behind Moran. Lewis Baker leaves because he is sick.
“We have a situation where there are players coming back from injury who have to play
a certain amount of minutes, but they can’t play too much because they’ll break,”
Robins stated during his pre-game press conference. These are the additions made to it.
“The good news is that kids will soon be able to play longer and start games, but that is clearly a skill.
I have the responsibility of selecting a team that will provide fans with what they want,
or as near to what they want, but I still want them to play.
“I want to watch football that is offensive, where players create opportunities and chase the ball.”
We’re seeing a lot of it right now, along with the fact that we’ve somewhat recovered from a goal drought,
are beginning to score goals, and occasionally appear a little more dangerous.
That can occasionally indicate that you’re a little more forthcoming, which comes at a price.
